Wild Animal Magic for the Westend Tots
 

A new initiative at Westend FC  will see Tots manager Ricky Thwaites organising matches for the under 5s every Saturday morning at the Westend Football Centre.
 

This move brings them into line with the under 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 age groups who currently play to the tried and tested Westend mini football format every Saturday morning.
 

Equal ability teams called Lions, Tigers, Pumas, Leopards, Cougars and Panthers are selected by the age group manager and play against each other during the morning.  The teams are changed each week to ensure players make new friends and learn the meaning of club spirit at an early age.

 

All age groups follow the Westend FC mini football Rules and no League tables are produced.  The emphasis is on fun and no coaching is allowed throughout the matches.
 

Each age group also enjoy a crossbar challenge and penalty king competition on alternate Saturdays with the winners being awarded a trophy at the end of season Presentation Evening in June 2011.
 

Reports from all age groups are posted on the Westend website and in the Huddersfield Examiner.
 

Westend FC resumes activities on Monday 16 August at Huddersfield New College and places are available in all age groups.  For more information call Ricky Thwaites 07703 040845.

New players are always made very welcome, regardless of ability. 

 

The U5 Tots section looks after boys and girls who are taking their first steps on the road to wearing the Westend red kit in a few years time. 
 

The sessions are run in a very friendly atmosphere with enjoyment being the number one priority.  Our aim is to give the youngsters encouragement and guidance without pressure. Our intention is to sow the seeds that will ensure every youngster regardless of ability has a lifetime of pleasure playing the best game in the world. 
 

         The qualifying date is 01 September
 

If a player is 4 on 31 Aug  he/she plays in the Under 5 age group
 

If a player is 5 on 01 Sept he/she plays in the Under 5 age group
 
 

Players at Westend FC are not allowed to play out of their respective age groups
